For centuries, Falkirk
has played a pivotal role in Scottish history. Located in the very heart of
the country between the two main cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, Falkirk
has witnessed its fair share of historic events.
The
northern most point of the ancient Roman empire was marked by the building of
the Antonine Wall right through the area, and
William Wallace fought the English here (and lost) at the First
Battle of Falkirk - possibly one of the largest battles ever in Britain!
